ISECON invites papers and other presentations of interest to the Information Systems Educator community.

ISECON is YOUR conference to learn and contribute to the trends and issues in Information Systems education. Build some bridges! Network with your peers. Switch on to IS Pedagogy, Curriculum, Accreditation, Technology, and research of interest to IS Educators. Top ISECON papers are published in ISEDJ, a peer-reviewed journal.

New for 2007: Tracks for PhD students to present their "works in progress" and full research papers, poster sessions for masters students, and a career fair for full time faculty positions.

ISECON's first conference was in 1982. ISECON is the largest continuously running conference for IS Educators.

All Submissions (Papers, Panels, Posters, etc)

All submissions, including papers, panels, workshops, seminars, posters, etc., should be made through the official ISECON Submittal Web Site at UNCW. There you can submit your proposal and track its progress. Available after May 15, 2007

Submission Review Format Requirements: (PDF) (DOC).

All presentations, including peer-reviewed papers and non-reviewed presentations, are expected to provide in electronic form some printable artifact for inclusion in the proceedings. For non-reviewed presentations this is frequently an abstract, summary statement, position statement, or set of handouts that were provided to attendees.

Papers (Full, Double-Blind Peer-Review)

The 2007 Papers Chair is Dr. Thomas N. Janicki, Univ of North Carolina Wilmington.

The papers chair handles the review process for peer-reviewed papers, as well as the ranking process by which journal papers are selected. He also oversees the best-papers selection process.

Submission Deadlines:

June 30, 2007 - includes consideration for best paper awards, consideration for proceedings publication, and consideration for inclusion in ISEDJ (Information Systems Education Journal, a peer-reviewed journal).

July 31, 2007 - includes consideration for proceedings publication and consideration for inclusion in ISEDJ (Information Systems Education Journal, a peerreviewed journal).

August 21, 2007 - includes consideration for proceedings publication.

Panels, Posters, Workshops (Limited Review)

The 2007 Program Chair is Dr. Alan R. Peslak, Penn State

The program chair handles the limited review process for non-peer-reviewed presentations, including posters, panels, workshops, seminars, and occasionally papers submitted after the other deadlines. The program chair also handles the actual time-slot scheduling of presentations.

Format of Presentations (generally):

-Paper sessions will have three to four papers presented in each session, giving each presenter 25 minutes including questions, followed by a 5-minute break between presenters.

-Time for all other presentation types is negotiated individually. Workshop presentations may be given 60, 90, or 120 minutes (or longer).

-Panel sessions will provide an opportunity for three or more presenters to speak in a more open and conversational setting with conference attendees. Submissions for these 60-, 90-, or 120-minute sessions should include the name, department, affiliation, and email address of each panelist in addition to a description of the presentation and the title page.
